About GOIEF
The General Organization for International Exhibitions and Fairs (GOIEF) was established in 1956 and is one of the economic bodies affiliated to the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI).
Objectives of the GOIEF:

To organize fairs and tradeshows in Egypt and participate in fairs abroad.

To promote Egyptian products, seek new markets and attract Arab and foreign investments.

To transfer technology and modern techniques into production and services.

To implement & activate trade agreements and economic gatherings in which Egypt participates.

To cooperate with peer organizations locally and internationally.
-
To give special licenses for trade and real estate fairs in Egypt and abroad.
GOIEF’s Membership in International Organizations:
The GOIEF is a founding member in several international organizations as:
- l’Union des Foires Internationales (UFI) in Paris in 1972.
- The Arab Union for International Exhibitions and Conferences (AUIEC) affiliated to the Arab League in 1995.
- The International Association for Exhibitions of the Mediterranean Countries in Barcelona, Spain in 1996.
The Location and Exhibition Halls:
- The GOIEF is situated at the junction between three main roads: Salah Salem, Mamdouh Salem and Ismail El Fangary. It is 15 minutes away from the Cairo International Airport and is considered to be in the center of Cairo.
- The GOIEF overlooks the Cairo International Stadium and the Cairo International Center for Conferences. A number of ministries, governmental bodies and organizations and big hotels are in the neighborhood of the GOIEF.
- The total exhibition area is 412,000 m2, of which 57,000 m2 is covered and 50,000 m2 is uncovered.
On the remainder of the land are the administrative buildings of the GOIEF, the service centers for exhibitors and visitors and green areas.
There are 26 halls in addition to the Intellectual Property Rights building, the Foreign Trade Training Center, Egyptian Export Promotion Center and the Investment Services compound.

A number of annual fairs and festivals are held at the GOIEF, most importantly:
- Cairo International Fair
- Cairo International Book Fair
- International Exhibition for Horticultural products
- Tourism and Shopping Festival
- AUTOMAC
- the International Fair for Spinning and Weaving Machines.
- Cairo International Stone & Stone Technologies
International Exhibition for small Enterprise in addition to many big specialized fairs that serve the production and service sectors.
Services offered by GOIEF:
- The GOIEF provides fair organizers, exhibitors and visitors with many services, some of which are detailed below:
- A business center providing banking services, communication (Internet, fax, telephone, copy machine, post office, media center, internal radio) during the preparation and the fair.
- An internal computer network (LAN) to connect the GOIEF’s departments to the main halls and offer internet access to the internet.
- The Central Library of the GOIEF
- Custom clearance services and shipping are provided through six companies specialized in serving exhibiting companies in external and internal fairs.
- Medical services are provided for exhibitors and visitors.
- Trees and plants for the decoration of different stands are sold to exhibitors at the arboricultural garden of the GOIEF.
- A modernly equipped Pharaonic Theatre that is rented to companies and other bodies for a small fee.
- On call task Unit is open 24 hours a day.
